To be honest, I haven't listened to Stairway To Heaven the whole way through in about 3 years!.!.!.!.the song is that boring to me now!. Child In Time i can listen to over and again and never get sick of!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I couldn't agree more in what you said about music folklore and Stairway!. Child In Time is an incredible piece of music and compositionally is probably Deep Purple's best!. They do have their similarities in tempo and the question raised is a very good one!. (You earn a star from me) Unfortunately it wasn't about three years ago that I last heard Stairway, it was about a week ago and with that in mind, my personal opinion is that Child In Time is the better!. Anyone who hardly ever listens to classic rock will argue Stairway and I just feel that Child In Time is one for the purists!.
As for the Blackmore's solo, impossible to make a comparison on those tracks!. I do feel that Blackmore is the nearly man when it comes to taking his place among the great Hall Of Famers which I believe he deserves!. Child in Time is like a vocal masterpiece, plus the guitar is epic through the entire song, so in one of the only times I'd chose a band over Zep, I'll do it right now!. I like Child in Time more in terms of musicianship!. Stairway to Heaven is also a classic, but I do prefer Child in Time!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Both great pieces of music!. I disagree that RBs solo is "better" than Page's!. Most music critics and listeners agree that Page's solo in STH is one of the best of all time!. Keep in mind he one offed it!. A lot of RB's solos were well thought out in advance!. That does not mean I think they are not good solos!. His best solos are from the Burn album!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
