Does it matter which end of an electric cable goes into the guitar and the amp?!

Question: Does it matter which end of an electric cable goes into the guitar and the amp!?
i'm kinda a noob and i don't wanna mess any electronics up!.
does the straight end of the cable of a fender premium go into the guitar or does the bent end go into the guitar!?!?
also, what other things should i know that might harm the amp/guitar/cable!?
for example, i've heard that you should turn down the volume on an amp before unplugging or plugging in a cable to the guitar!.!. is that true!?
also, any other "do not do's"!?
any warning signs to look for!?
every once in a while, i'll hear the amp screech an almost unhearable high pitch tone!.!.!. is that normal!?

thanks a lot!Www@Enter-QA@Com

The screech is caused by a loose cable or you getting too close to it!. If you get too close to it, and you're facing it, it's just like a microphone backfire - the amp spits out noise, which is picked up again by the pickups on your guitar, which are sent back out to the amp and so on!.!.!.
And it gets louder and louder!. Just turn away from it!.

It doesn't matter at all which end goes in the amp and which goes in the guitar!. If you have a cord where one end is bent, the bent side traditionally goes in the guitar!. But again, it doesn't matter at all!.

I've never heard of that volume thing!. Thats probably just a bizarre rumor lol!. The only thing it would do is make a quick static noise that is loud because you didn't turn the volume down!. It doesn't harm it though!.

Don't get it wet or leave it in your moist basement or anything like that!. That's probably the worst thing you can do to the amp!.

If you get a call or text on your cell phone and your phone is near the amp, you'll hear a sound (you'll know it when you hear it)!. That doesn't harm it so don't worry!.

Don't sit on your amp!. Don't pull or rip off the netting in the front!.

Other than those obvious things, there really isn't much you shouldn't do!.

Playing loudly for long periods of time isn't a "don't"!.
I did have a friend who had an amp go up in smoke though because he shorted it out like a dumbass!. That would be something you would have to go out of your way to do though!.!.!.

There are way more "don'ts" for your guitar!. For example:
Don't pick it up by it's neck!.
Don't lay it down flat!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't think it matters which end is plugged into the guitar and amp!.

I have never heard of turning down the volume being necessary before plugging and I don't do it!. Mine has a high screeching sound sometimes as well, especially if I am standing far from it!. I think it's normal!.

By the way, I am the same way!. I always want to make sure I am plugging things right so I don't damage them LOL!. Hope this helped!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The reason people would turn the volume down is because the amp makes a horrifically loud buzz for a split second while you're putting it in!. If you don't believe me, try it yourself!. It doesn't matter where the cable jacks go!. The bent end was designed to make it easier to plug in/out of some guitars!.

Taking care of it is pretty easy too!. Don't cut anything!.

Dunno what the amp screech is!. Feedback maybe!? Move a little farther away from the amp I guess!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

hi, turn the volume down on the guitar, plug in turn volume up job sorted good luck!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

It doesn't matter, but you might want to turn off the amp before plugging it in or it will buzz!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
