Answers:
Gas prices have crippled the touring capabilities of smaller, more independent bands, and raised the ticket prices of the mega bands!. Most people have less disposable income, so there will be more illegal downloading and copying of discs!.!.!.!. So that will all lead to fewer bucks going to the big record companies, so that means they are going to look to Disney and American Idol to create stars!.!.!. no one is out there in dives and hole in the wall bars looking for the next Nirvana or the next Metallica!.!.!. so we have the abysmal record biz as it is!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

rock will become more popular!. i'll explain why in a second!.

okay, here's why!. first you have to look at music trends from a couple years back!. lets start with the early 90's, economy not so bad, what type was music was big!?!?!? yes, rock, specifically grunge!. mid 90's, economy is good, what is big!? britney spear, jessica simpson, backstreet boys!.!.!.basically pop music!. late 90's, to early 00's, economy not the best, AND 9/11 happened, and this was the last time rock was big in the mainstream!. and now you know that pop is big!. but now with the economic crisis, it will change!. basically, when economy isn't great, people aren't in the mood for pop music!. when economy is great, people aren't in the mood for heavy rock, they just want preppy, happy pop music!.

most of the time, these music trends last around 5 years!. and remember, every 5 years, there's a new generation of teenagers!.

so i am possitive rock will take back the mainstream with another sub-genre, just don't know what!. maybe even another city will take the mainstream like how seattle did in the 90's!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Genre!? Liberal punk maybe!? I can guarantee a lot of bands will cash in on political music!. I don't think amazing bands will emerge!.!.!. No amazing bands have emerged in the last 10 years, why would they start now!? I think a bunch of sh*tty Rage wannabes will emerge!.

All this is considering something DOES change!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think music is our saving grace and will bring us through hard times!.

My thought is that hard times usually inspire deeper feelings / more raw and close to the surface!. And in the arts, up to a point for me at least, I want that!. I want something that moves me and makes me think!. Hard times do just that ~ on a myriad of levels!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Government controls everything evil so oh my Disney will take over!. O_0 (guess)

Depression, drama, despair, sadness, anger

I would guess so!. I mean I hope so =)

I don't want anything to change but life is so unpredictable it's almost predictable!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

this actually might help bring back the major labels!. independents might not be able to afford the cost of making the music and putting the bands out on tour!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

nothing will change!.!.todays music sucks anyway!.!.well with an exception of a few bands!.!.and I mean a very small fewWww@Enter-QA@Com

I think that there will be a re-emergence of '60s music, with some blues and topics about world peace & being poor!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
