Question: In the Buddy Holly Story film, during practice the band sings the line "bring in the cleaves!." Whats a cleave!?
If I'm not mistaken, I believe that's what they say!.

What's a cleave!? And why do they need brought in!?

It's near the beginning when they're being recorded by a producer who wants them to sound like a hillbilly band, they're forced to sing all their songs with a country twinge!. The scene where he yells, "I like Elvis just fine but I'm Buddy Holly!"

They're goofing off, ruining a take on purpose and start yelling "Bring in the cleaves! Not a cleave to be found! Hot Damn!"

It's been several years since I've seen the movie but are you sure he didn't say "bringing in the sheaves"!? Bringing in the sheaves is a hymn about sewing seeds!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You should know this its easy when Buddy and his father got into a fight in his early yeas his father tried to kill him with a meat cleaver it was terrible but he got away then after a while he told his dad "To Bring It On" its means Bring Me The Meat CleaverWww@Enter-QA@Com
