Question: Help finding a 17th or 18th century italian song for female voice!?
I am auditioning for a classical music vocal course and need to present a 17th of 18th century italian song!. My range is a glow g to a high g just above the stave however I would prefer something that does not go that high, mor in an alto range that doesnt go beyond around an e!? Are there any suggestions out there!?

There's a volume called "24 Italian Songs and Arias of the 17th and 18th centuries"!. It comes in medium-high/medium-low voice editions!. Another set is "17th and 18th century Italian Songs", and it comes in 2 volumes each of high/low voice!. Many of the songs in each set overlap, so it's really enough to get just either one!. These are like the 'standard textbooks' of every vocal student!. The range from quite easy to some trickier ones that require more skill!. It should be readily available in any decent music library or store!.

One song I can think of off the top of my head (and which is in the book) is Caro Mio Ben!. You can sing it in the lower key - C major - where the highest note is a D!. The higher key (Eb major) has the highest note as F!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The 24 Italian Songs and Arias book is a staple for any vocal student!. If you don't own it already, you will eventually have to buy it!. So you might as well buy it now!. It's an excellent resource, with plenty of different music!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
