Question: When bands perform and tour, do they perform their old songs or just their newest album!?

In my opinion, the best live bands know how to mix it up, as regards old and new songs!. They know the audience wants to hear their old favourites, but they also work in new songs for the CD that they are promoting!. My favourite live band is Crowded House!.!.!. when I saw them last year, I counted how many songs were from each of their albums, and it was actually divided pretty evenly, plus they always throw in a Split Enz song or two!.
I have been to concerts where the artists played almost exclusively songs from their new album, which in some cases hadn't even been released yet, and I did not enjoy those shows nearly as much!. I think that's a huge mistake on the part of the artist!.

Usually to start off with, they would perform their old songs, preferably hits that are crowd pleasers!. Songs from their latest album will then be performed anytime later to promote the album to people who listen to the band's hits, but do not know the band's latest songs yet!.
Then again, it depends very much on what tour they're on!. If it's a tour specifically to promote the band's latest album, then new songs are what they'll be playing most!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

well they usually perform starting with a newer song and then after a while they go into some old stuff!.
Like for example i went to warped and fftl played some new stuff (because they now have a new lead singer) and then then still played old stuff!Www@Enter-QA@Com

They would normally do most of the songs from their newest album, and then all the single that they have released in the past, plus any other past album tracks that are popular with fans!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
