On *several* occassions I've dreamt about a melody & if I was lucky, I'd remember it the next morning & write it out!. Sometimes, I'd play it on my guitar & realize it sounded too close to a famous song, but most times, it's an original melody!.

I go to sleep thinking about music - and wake up singing a song in my head!. Since I live and breathe music!.!.!. it's not surprising that I dream up melodies and harmonies!.
I remember a dream about being in the studio with a few of my favorite musicians and singers (who in real life have never met each other)!. In the dream I was communicating effectively but I sounded TERRIBLE, my song idea to these guys (and 2 gals)!. They were repeating what I had in my head - not what I sang in the room!.
When I woke up!.!.!. I ran to the studio - (which is 50 feet from where I sleep) and sang the essence of the song!. Then went back to sleep!.
When I again awoke in the morning it was a variation of a song written in the 1940s!. How disappointing that was!Www@Enter-QA@Com

When I was in High School that was an incredibly common occurance!. Unfortunately I seem to create all my best stuff when I'm asleep or in the shower!. And of course I can't write it down in either case and when I have the ability to write it down it's long lost in the deep fathoms of my brain cell!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

E!. i have written a brilliant song and i can hum the tune, i can even play the sexy saxophone with my lips!.!.!.the lyrics are brilliant and i know it would be a huge hit if only i could play and sing, or pay someone else to do it!.!.!.doh!Www@Enter-QA@Com
I have!. I've dreamt this several times, actually!.!.!. once was a symphony that was very intricate, etc!., and a couple times I dreamt of some chants!. I remembered them for the morning of the next day, but forgot them by lunchtime!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
