Question: Is there a way to alter the genetic sequence of an animal embryo so that you could customize its fur color!?

you would need to know the allele for hair color for the organism!.!.!.if you could localize the allele for that gene then yes it could (theoretically) be modified as a polymorphism, however it depends on the genome composition of said animal and if it has been mapped!.
