Well, first of all this is purely opinion-based!. Just because you say David is better than any player under 30 today doesn't make it true!. If you are talking purely on technical ability then the answer is definitely no!.!.!.there are tons of guitar players that could play circles around Gilmour (to name a few!.!.!.Alexi Laiho, Kaki King, Paul Waggoner, Andy McKee!.!.!.)

But I'm not trying to take anything away from Gilmour, he is a great player and plays with more emotion than most other players!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Dave deffinately has a great deal more talent than the mojority of guitarists currently popular in the mainstream!. However, to say he's better than everybody wouldn't be right!. Better is in the mind of the listener!. I was a pink floyd nut when I was in high school and I love Dave's sound, style, and technique and I hail him as one of the lords of rock, but I can not take away the praise that is due to the small collective of truely talented modern guitarists!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

guitar playing is one of those activities in which age is irrelevant!.
I personally don't hear anything special when I hear him playing the guitar!. Besides, that song is tired!. I'll admit that he is better than me, but anyone under thirty!? come on!.!.!.ever listen to jazz music!?!.!. classical!?

Nope, there are several guitarists who are as good as if if not better today, they are not all around guitarists-singer-song writers like Gilmour but they are as good on a guitar!. John Mayer & Lenny Kravitz to mention a few!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

He may not be technically as good as many young guitarists playing speed metal and heavy metal but I agree he is a far better composer than any of them!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
