It's a good question, but as others have said, there is no final answer!. The obvious candidates are of course the Strat & the Les Paul, but that is to assume we are talking solid/electric!. Some would argue that Martin make the best guitars (acoustic), and others might claim Ovation, Taylor & numerous hand-made custom jobs!. Rickenbacker make superb 12 string guitars - no other sounds like it!. Gibson make some really good jazz guitars, and the ES & SG models also have their fans!. So in the end It's all about what sound you want and what style you play!. Personally I like the sound of Music Man guitars, but maybe that's just because I'm an Albert Lee fan!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
its arguable, but Les Paul is a good quality guitar!. Actual ones cost thousands, but there have been many based on the original design which cost less and are also have an extremely good quality sound!. It was one of the first solid bodied electric guitars, and has been a major innovation in the sound of rock 'n roll!. There is never gonna be a right answer, because guitarists are extremely subjective!. The two most influential guitars are the Fender Stratocaster and the Gibson Les Paul- they were the first electrics, and they were both very good instruments from the start (although I think the Strat came along a couple of years before the Les Paul- early fifties possibly)!.
I own a Jackson Soloist and I love it, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't sell my soul for a Ramirez acoustic!. Guitars are like cars- sometimes a very bad guitar can still be extremely desirable!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
