What level are you!? High school, college - what!? Do you have a good private teacher!? You need to go thru LISTS and see what you know, what is at your level, and what intrigues you!. Do you know the Bloch "Suite Modale"!? Howzabout the Tatktakishvili Sonata!? The Poulenc Sonata!? If you want to browse a LOT of flute music for cheap, then go to www!.cdsheetmusic!.com and buy that CD ROM that has 200 solos on it - all public domain, so print as many as you want!? Old-fashioned editions, but doable!. Widor Suite!? I am playing this again this Thursday - I have a solo recital, and this is a Romantic gem!. Franck Sonata!? Reinecke!? Heck, you could go to www!.fluteworld!.com and just start running the lists!. OR get the NFA booklet on flute literature, and find your level - and see what they recommend!. Most competition lists ( and I am a JUDGE!) are put together by committees who have no clue - so your State lists are hardly the best place to start!.

There are some Rhonda Larson things in print - Wood Nymph Music publishers - and they might also fit the bill!. If you need something unaccompanied, look at Movin' On - sounds kinda Irish or Newfoundland, and is a great piece to show off some technique!. People love it - I have played it in concert a few times, and it always pleases!.

There are some gypsy-ish things in some of the standard collections - Andalouse, Hungarian things, etc!. Ehh!. How about Astor Piazzola - feel like TANGO!? The Gade variations on Jalousie!?

There are some Celtic collections out there - I really find the Galway stuff way to sanitized - but I think Jessica Walsh has a collection - don't know how DEEP you are into Celtic!.

Write back with more info and/or your reactions - I will try to suggest some more!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
