Answers:
You must be practicing something wrong because you should have learned all of that in much less than 17 hours, much less 17 hours a day for 14 days!.

Get a private teacher to guide you!. I'm a 17 year old and I've played some professional level gigs (even one in a bar- i just had to stay on stage) even though I'm not very good at guitar!. I practiced about 1 hour a day for a year to get to this level!. I play jazz guitar and can't even really solo, but I can play a nearly infinite number of chords and plenty of songs as long as I have music!.

So get a private teacher to tell you what to practice and you'll get a lot better with a lot less time!.

If you do that and practice that much you can probably be getting gigs in a month!

Good luck!

well if you keep that rate up (I doubt you will though!.!.!. 17 hours a day is a bit excessive, nearly impossible) Im sure you'd be in bars in about 6 months!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

call a bar, start playing!.
go to open mic nights!.

17 hours a day is stupid!. Seriously!. I love guitar, music is my life, but if I played for 17 hours a day I would go insane!. There's so much in life worth doing besides guitar! Go outside, talk a walk, etc!. Do it too much and you burn yourself out, you develop bad technique, you get real stressed out!.

If you know the main chords in the keys of E, A, D, G, and C (ie, 1 4 5 6m) and can play them in power chord and open and barre, play a few pentatonic scales, and can hack your way through a 12 bar blues progression, then you're better qualified to audition for a band than most anyone, as far as I'm concerned!. Each genre will have its individual specialties, and some of them will be a pita to learn (ie, thrash metal), but that's part of how it goes!. Knowing what I've listed above will at least help you get the idea of what's going on for most bands!.

A reasonable rate of study for a beginner usually means basic competency (can play basic stuff and not screw up) at 6 months!. There's always more to learn, but that's a reasonable time line!. It usually takes 6 months of jamming with a band on a regular basis before you start to "gel", ie, start playing as a band instead of 3-5 people!.
