I think that you are sort of mistaken, the only time, in my opinion, they sold out was when they made that Disco album in the early eighties!. The merchandising is genius and I wish other bands would do similar things, I have a 12' Gene Simmons action figure in my room and it looks sweet!. They probably did go overborad when they basically make everything you can think of!.!.!. Dime Bag is buried in one of the KISS caskets and I hope I get buried in one too!.

You can think they are sell outs all you want!. That's your opinion!. Over the course of time bands come and bands go for different reasons!. But while they are around its their job, that's how they make $$!. They just happen to expand there profits in merchandising!. Whats being a sell out about that!. They have timeless music and timeless merchandise!. How many other bands can you say that about!. Not many!. It just so happen they had a falling out!. But you have to consider the merchandising as a sort of retirement package!. A way to make money when the job is no longer there!. you should hear Gene Simmons talk about business!. Hes no dummy when it comes to money!.That's not being a sell out that's called being smart and taking care of your investment!. I hate to say it but making money is the way the world works!. Some are just smarter at it than others!. If your a musician you might end up with a one hit wonder or a couple of good albums and then your gone!. Its like sports people complain that the players make way to much money but they have a short lived career!. What do you think they are going to do with no job!. Does that make them sell outs too!? No it makes them smart for being able to figure it out!. Providing for yourself and family when you cant do the work any more!.How long has it been since KISS has been together for any length of time!. But the merchandise is there, the music is there!. Do you think you could have a legacy like that!? Its possible cuz they did it!. Dont knock them for being smart just because your jealous!. Take some lessons from them and be more than your music!. they're alright!. i might listen to a few songs once in a while, but i don't have any on my ipod!. i wouldn't want to listen to them non stop, but i don't hate them!.
