I think Quiet Riot is given credit for starting the thing if anyone is!.
It only failed from your perspective, I think some really good songs were made in that era!. Obviously, once it became very popular, all kinds of derivative trash came out, but how can you listen to Metal Health and not want to to rock!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I would say that Motley Crue was one of the innovators of hair metal, Whitesnake, and Dokken IMO that could very well be an ignorant statement!.
it failed for a while some speculate it was drowned out and due to the Grunge Movement others speculate that it was simply just a FAD and faded out!. I would say a little of both but it picked back up maybe 5 or so years ago maybe 3 and it not BOOMING but its still going on today there are still many many fansWww@Enter-QA@Com
