A question for guitar players...?!

Question: A question for guitar players!.!.!.!?
When you were still beginning guitar, like in your first year, did you ever feel intimidated by better guitar players and feel you would never be as good as them!? Is this normal among guitar players!? I'm sort of felling like that right nowWww@Enter-QA@Com

Oh no doubt man!. I've been playing for a couple years and I'm still kinda intimidated!. If you see those rock stars out there completely shredding it up and you're still strumming those basic chords, you probably will feel intimidated!.

I wanted to learn how to solo at first, but after a while I decided it's just not really my thing!. I'm good with chords and chord progressions and I'm fine with that!.

You just have to ask yourself if you really want to be as good as those guys!. If you do, you have to practice and practice and practice!. If you just want to learn the guitar, and think it's fun and just play around, that's totally fine, and just keep doin what you're doin!.

You can use rockstars as an inspiration, though, to get better!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Definitely!. I've played the guitar for some time now and to tell you the truth, I'm not half as good as I'd like to be!. I know there is always going to be someone who plays better!. But instead of feeling all despondent all of the time, which can be rather depressing, I do like to admire and it sort of inspires me to better myself at it!. Don't compare your playing with others too much, but so long as you strive to master that riff, or learn that scale or song, practicing and having the "every time, I will do a little bit better" mindset, you should get better in time!. That's what's important: your own progress!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

hi K-dog, so!.!.!.!.!.!.!. you are having some problems of intimidation huh!? i'm not a pro on guitar playing but i have been playing it since about 6 years!. when i first held my guitar i was a starter and now i am a player!. there is difference between a player and a starter you know!. and the difference is the amount of practice they intake!. PRACTICE for perfection and score for your aim rather than feel intimidated looking someone perfect!. Remember the only difference between you and the guitar legends is the amount of practice!. I hope, by the time you were born you were not even able to speak but the effort that you put made you able!. so practice!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Everybody has little parlor tricks that make them seem better then they really are!. That's what you're seeing!. Pick up the DVD Rock House Method for Electric Guitar (the intermediate DVD is the best, even for beginners), that'll take your playing to the next level!.

(You can buy them seperately, Netflix even has them to rent)

I actually never felt like that!. watching other people play actually should motivate you to become better because there is no way that you won't get better if you don't -practice!. its impossible!. just watch other people and learn from them!. Everyone has the same abilities!. Any one can play the guitar if they really want too!. you just have to keep working at it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hell yeah! I got that alot actually, to the point were I felt edgy playing in front of people, but who cares!. Don’t let it bring you down, just keep playing and keep practicing and before you know it, you’ll be as good as those people you felt intimidated by!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yeah!. My friend had been playing for quite some time when I decided to start learning!. When he found out I wanted to play he goes "well let's jam some time!."

He would be playing these great solo's and I'd be playing Smoke On The Water or Seven Nation Army lol!.

It intimidated me but at the same time made me wanna try that much harder!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

This is normal!. I'm a Bass Player and I always felt intimidated by other Bass Players, but don't worry, practice and this feeling will go away with time!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yeah, for sure, I still do all the time!. It's better to just convert that overwhelmed feeling into a desire to reach their skill level!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
