Question: Can you please help me record a song!?
Ok!.!.!.I've never done this before! haha I would like to learn how to play and sing the song "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" by Death Cab For Cutie!. I want to record it as part of a mix cd that I am making for my boyfriend!. I have no idea how to do this! I have a Mac iBook g4 and think that I might be able to somehow do it through GarageBand, but I'm computer illiterate!. I would appreciate any and all advice you could share with me!. There are a lot of programs out there that can help you do that!.!.!.unfortunately, most of them are quite complicated to use!.
But there is one that I really like, it's easy enough, cheap and just as powerful as the more expensive ones (and you can even download a trial version to see if you like it)!.
It's called "Mixcraft" by Acoustica!.
You can record your voice (you need a microphone) and mix it with mp3s, wav!.!.!.add effects, control the volume for each track (it's all "drag and drop", so you can see most of what you do onscreen in real time)!.
So if you have the instrumental version of the song, or a Midi version of it, it would be easy to do (or you could record what you play on a keyboard if you have one)!.
You could also make your own music with the program (might be a tad more complicated)!.
I have an older version of it, and I love the mixed songs I created with it!.!.!.the newest version looks awesome for the price!.
Moreover you can get help or watch video tutorials online if you have trouble with the program!.
