Question: Disrespectful Nightwish cover!? Do you lose respect to a band that make fun of other band's songs!?

To the first person, there's nothing wrong with "slagging" a band if you don't like the music or whatever - but if you say they have no talent, then you're just retarded!.
Well I'm not a fan of Children of Bodom but it seemed like the way he was singing would be to make fun of Tarja more than Anette, but eh!. I'm sure a band like CoB considers Nightwish "fairy metal" *cough* shreder *cough* ;)
But eh whatever, it wasn't especially funny to me but I guess it could be funny to others!. It's not offensive, just kind of boring!.
To answer the question, it depends on the band/situation!. If they were just poking fun and it was all in good nature, sure no problem!. If they were being idiotic and rude, well, might be less inclined to respect them then!.

For instance (this isn't a band, but yeah) - these two chicks cover a bunch of female-sung rock/metal songs while mimicking Tarja from Nightwish!. Obviously it's not meant to be taken serious, but it IS poking fun at her!. I thought it was funny though!.

i do agree with you that the above is in a way disrespectful to nightwish!. but totally disagree with michael jus cos u dont like them, doesnt necessarily give you the right to in a way slag off the bands, me personally am not a fan of COB, but lookin forward 2 seeing them live (openin act for machine head/slipknot)

I have never liked Nightwish and I can't stand COB!.!.!.as far as i'm concerned it's one terrible band covering another!. To the person below me, everyone is entitled to an opinion, everyone slags off bands they don't like, a good thing is to not take it personally and respect that others may not like a band you like!. Many peoples slag off bands I like, but hey! They are entitled to their opinions and they have a freedom of speech to say whatever the hell they want about bands I like!.

More @sshole behavior from Alexi Sloppy, I have bashed Nightwish in the past but no longer do it out of respect for Peaches, Vickey, Jackie, and others on here but even beside that I would never go onstage and mock any band only bash them on here in animitity LOL, you guys know I bash for FUN but I am doing less and less of it but Alexi Sloppy is really getting out of hand saying crap about Dream Theater and other bands and now this!. Yes it is kinda sad!. I don't mind it much when someone mocks a band that is only semi talented and full of themselves (like Slipknot) but when you don't have a tenth of the songwriting ability of the other band!.!.you really got no room to start!.
Funny thing is !.!.!. I like both bands!. Two totally different types of music!.!.!.!. though Tuomas smokes their keyboardist 8 ways to Sunday!.
And!.!.!.while Laiho is a talented guitarist, he also tends to be sloppy as **** (especially live) and so has NO room to mock anyone!.
Sadly!.!.i find these little ego trips and cock fights amongst metal bands and their fans to be tedious!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
