if theres a note in there with another note ontop like its a chord then its a sustained note!. ex you play
4 then it goes to 5 the 4th fret

note is held when the top note is changed to the 5th fret and only the top string is re strummed!. like make a bar on the 3rd fret on strings 5 and 6, strum both then place another finger in the 4th fret on the 5th string and strum only that 5th string while maintaining the bar, thats what it means!. sorry if it doesnt make sense:P
