To the contrary… Cash has never been regarded as a racist!. Perhaps the language of his time may lead one to believe he used “derogatory language” such as words like “*****” but these were words of the day and were even socially acceptable to both blacks and whites!. To call someone “black” in the 50s made you a racist!.
You may also want to keep in mind that Cash performed with black artists such as Charley Pride and that he eventually purchased a home in Jamaica!. If he had a thing against blacks I think he would have elected to purchase a home somewhere else!.
