Do you prefer to hear music live or recorded?!
Question: Do you prefer to hear music live or recorded!?
Answers:
I love live shows!. So, atmospherically, live!. But, as far as sound quality goes, recorded!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
How about "depends!?"
Depends on the material (since we're talking about live recordings)!. Some stuff just benefits from that extra bit of punch and really hits the concept home with the sort of "live push!." On the contrary, I can really be a production guy!. I love bells and whistles and ear candy and weird harmonies that you may not get live!. A friend of mine who is an engineer and has done a little producing sees it this way, and I tend to agree (at least some of the time)!. The album and the live performance should be entirely separate!. An album is meant to push the limits!. You have all of these resources at your disposal and you want to make the best album possible therefore, why would you limit yourself to things you can achieve live!. He tends to believe, in an overly simplified way, that the a lot of the real artistry takes place in the creation of the album!.
Now for me the easiest way to say it is that the songs want to be made a certain way, and thus some things are better live, broken down and raw, and some things are better when you simply can't replicate them live!. Then you get people like Radiohead who are just on their own crazy level live and you just can go either way and be in great shape!. Sometimes people just do both great and it can be a mood thing!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I prefer live recordings!. Any band with minimal talent can go into a studio and make a listenable album - there's so much technology!. When you hear a live album, you're hearing the band, warts and all!. A perfect example would be the Grateful Dead!. Their studio stuff was just okay, but their live recordings were magic!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I'm an album kind of guy!. Normally music sounds drowned out when it is on a live album, and I'm a stickler for quality!. However, I'd much rather see them in concert than listen to their album any day of the week!.

Lou Reed-Rock & Roll Animal
Bob Seger-Live Bullet
Pink Floyd-Live At Pompeii

Recorded!. With the over-producing that occurs in studio, many bands aren't recognizable when performing live!.
There are some who do sound better live than they do in the studio - for example, Tori Amos and Jimmy Buffett!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I prefer recorded music, because it's perfected in the studio, and everything's tighter than it is live!. Of course don't get me wrong, i always love a live show, there's nothing like it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Recorded, i hate live albums!. The only way i'd like a live album is if all the songs were new, that way i'd have nothing to compare them to!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I don't like live concerts, or live recordings!. I am not sure why, but sometimes it seems like the person doesn't know the words to their own song!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
There's a time and place for each!. I don't particularly like live recordings, unless of course I was actually there or it's a video!. Live videos are BAMF!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
