Some very low level drum kits come with everything!. This appeals to the beginner without much knowledge so they don't have to "think" or find out much to buy the kit as hardware (in other words "stands" to hold up the drums and cymbals"), cymbals and sometimes even a pair of sticks are included in the package!. It is usually very low grade quality of all the components and I'd suggest you avoid those packages!.

Other than that a 5pc kit can be anything as long as there are 5pcs (the piece count is just of the actual drums)!. Others have already mentioned what a standard 5pc is (snare, two toms, floor tom and kick drum)!. That would be the bare minimum you'd get if you were buying a 5pc kit!.!.!.as in five drums and nothing else!.

The reason people will buy JUST drums is that they might already have hardware, and don't need to buy it again, but want to upgrade their drums to a better quality!. That is why a lot of higher priced stuff is sold separately!. also people want choice in hardware and cymbals, so usually the people buying more expensive drums have been playing longer and have more opinions on what gear they want!.

P!.s!. the drum throne (or stool) almost never comes with the kit!. It is very important and you should definitely consider having a good one as it is hard to drum for long periods when you are sitting on a kitchen chair or barstool etc!.

Hope this helps!.

If you look up a drum set and it says it includes hardware, that means it comes with a 1)hi-hat stand!. 2)some may have one or more cymbal stand either boom or straight!. 3) a drum throne!. I got a Tama Imperialstar and i came with Meinl cymbals and all the hardware!.

Hardware is usually included, but cymbals ain't!. The reason is because different players want different cymbals, and there is such a difference in price!. In other words, you can buy an 18" thin crash for $70, and you can buy an 18" thin crash for $245!.

total a little over $500, but I think everything ships for free!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

A 5-piece drum kit generally includes 1 snare drum, 1 kick drum with pedal, 2 toms, and 1 floor tom drum, and 1 hi-hat symbol!. Cymbals and cymbal hardware such as stands are generally sold seperately, as well as other hardware like seats and other crap like that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It means that all you are buying is the drums!. Any cymbal stands, pedals, hi-hat stand, and cymbals are not included which is typical!.
