Hedrix without a doubt!. If you ask any young guitarist which songs they wish to play, they will name Hendrix tunes!. Look at how many of his songs have been covered by other guitarists over the years, why do they do it, because they want to play like the best!. Sure he was influenced by guys like Guitar Slim and Buddy Guy, but I think he took his music several steps further, and indeed over his short recording career, his music progressed!.
Obviously Hendrix died in 1970, whilst Clapton survived however Clapton has recorded very little of note since that time!. His best work was with John Mayall and Cream, and most of those songs were written by somebody else!.

Jimi Hendrix was extremely talented, too bad he isn't still around!.
I'll have to vote for Eric Clapton though!. His music has changed in many ways - but he's darn good and always has been! Very talented- Tears in Heaven, Layla (both versions are awesome!) You Look Wonderful Tonight, and the list goes on! Www@Enter-QA@Com

He's got a wider range of musical talent, in my opinion!. And I personally love his style and the way he makes his guitar cry the blues!.

Hendrix was more accomplished during his brief lifespan!. Although I will say that Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs is as good as any album by Hendrix!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
