But for ME, Illmatic is the single greatest hip hop record!.!. The second the last track finished, I knew NaS was the illest!.!.!.Not to badmouth Big L or Pac or Rakim or Pun or Pac but this was something special!. To me, Illmatic was the album that culminated the emphasis on lyricism in the early 90's and basically said "If you aint lyrical or you can't flow!. you aint ****"!.
When you get into a sport/type of video game!. You tend to say "What game will get me in!?" "What song do i need to listen to!?"!.!.!.If you wanna get in deep into hip hop!. Illmatic is the CD that will take you there!.!.!.After that!. Everything is history like the Jin album!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Illmatic was the best too in my opinion as far as every track being equally potent!. A lot of albums are Classic but for me, when you say the best, there are very few albums that you can say have no tracks that I skipped!.
The other best albums were- Eric B & Rakim "Paid In Full", Raekwon "Only Built For Cuban Linx", Notorious BIG "Ready to Die"!. Smif N Wessun "Dah Shinin"!.!.!.!.!.!.maybe including the Raekwon and Smif N Wessun albums are crazy for some but I loved those albums from beginning to end!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

YES BESIDES ILLMATIC BECUZ IT IS DA GREATEST EVER!.!.!. Next in line has 2 b IT TAKES A NATION OF MILLIONS TO HOLD US BACK!. Not many will agree wit this answer but I can assure u that nuthin else deserves da runner up spot more than it!. It was before many people's times so most wont understand da importance of this record!. It basically started a revolution!.!.!. Paid in Full Enter the Wu Tang and Ready to Die are all great but this record just had more of an impact!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I agree illmatic is/has to be the best hip hop album ever!.!.!.I dont listen to Nas at all but every song on that album is a classic song!.!.!.but id have to go with either 2pacalypse Now or Ready TO Die!!!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com
