Question: Why cant Pink Floyd fans admit that Led Zeppelin is better than PF!?
I like both bands, but i think LZ are the gods of rock!. They are not comparable to anyone!.
As for playing styles, both are different; but both come under the category of classic rock!. I think the animosity for LZ had always existed, and is more prevalent these days!. The kids of today dont seem to like their music as much as PF's because they have heard it so many times on radio!. Sorry, that does not make PF > LZ!. LZ seriously know how to rock, and i havent any band that produces their kind of music!. But the type of music PF (esp in their newer songs) uses can be heard in a number of bands today!. I love some PF songs like crazy (comfortably numb, take it back); but i cant get enough of almost all of LZ's songs (kashmir, immigrant song, stairway and so many more!)!. LZ has harder music; more hardcore, physical!. There just isnt music like these nowadays!. Even though PF formed before LZ, the kind of impact LZ had in the 70's cannot be compared by anyone except the beatles!.

Please!. Yes, Led Zeppelin had a wilder fanbase!. Yeah, they were harder rocking!. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they outsold Pink Floyd in record sales!. But that's all irrelevant because the two groups are worlds apart!. Led Zeppelin was a hard rocking, hotel trashing, four man freakout dedicated to all things sex, drugs, and rock and roll!. Pink Floyd, while its core members made up only four men, needed a small army of people on a massive stage, almost putting the audience in a trance with their hypnotic lightshow, inflatable pigs, movie screens, laser lights, explosives, and, most importantly, their unique sound, the likes of which I still don't hear reproduced even to this day!.
Classic rock is not a genre!. I cannot stress this enough!. If you really think PF and LZ are similar enough to share a genre, you may want to give their work one more listen!. Classic rock is a radio format!. Van Halen and The Allman Brothers Band are not the same because they are considered "classic rock!." It's pointless to compare Floyd and Zeppelin!. The numbers only show that Led Zeppelin is more radio friendly than Pink Floyd!. Do you really think the 23 minute, multiple-movement instrumental Atom Heart Mother would be as catchy as Good Times Bad Times!? Pink Floyd stopped recording pop music early in their career!. Pink Floyd is a progressive rock band, not a hard rock band a la Led Zeppelin!. Save the token three songs (Another Brick Part 2, WYWH, Money), Floyd does not get played on mainstream radio!. Jimmy Page is undeniably a master of guitar riffs!. He recorded enough catchy hooks to complete a dozen careers!. That's why Led Zeppelin are still popular to this day!.

better is subjective - a personal choice to what pleases your ears and brain!. i like floyd better than zep that is MY opinion!. you might not - that is YOUR opinion!. does it matter!? no!. don't get me wrong i like zep too but if i had to listen to nothing but one band or the other for the rest of my life, i think it would be floyd!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If Pink Floyd is someones favorite band, why would they have to admit Zeppelin is better!? To them, Floyd is better!. There is no known fact that Zep is better than Floyd!. I like Led Zeppelin more so I guess this question isn't necessarily directed at me, but that doesn't mean I can't be confused as to how someone would give statistics (unless your definition of a statistic is a sweeping generalization as your question seems to indicate) about why Pink Floyd is better than Led Zeppelin!. It just sounds better to some people for the same reason Led Zeppelin sounds better to you and me!.!.!. isn't that enough!?
Edit: Okay then!.!.!. they consider Pink Floyd better because they like that type of music more, and since Pink Floyd is better at doing what they do than Led Zeppelin is at it, they find Pink Floyd to be better!. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but that's all it is!. How do you measure "better"!? Talent!? Record sales!? You can't put a number on the passion and devotion of the fans, so what criteria are you even ranting about!? I have Every Led Zeppelin album from their debut to "Coda", and I have all but three of Pink Floyd's albums!. I've played live covers from both bands, and both get a great reaction!. Each band boasted a tremendous lineup of talent!.

Have your opinion, fine!. Led Zeppelin is my second favorite band, but Pink Floyd does something with music that no other band can!. They just put so much soul into everything they do!. It's creative, and not like anything else!. Sure Jimmy Page can play some guitar, but Gilmour just puts so much feeling into every little thing he does!. That's me personally!. Love them to the day I die, and NO ONE is going to take that away from me!.
