I see so much anti-mainstream snobbery here!. However just about everyone loves at least a few mainstream artists!. Admit it, you do!

Not everything mainstream is necessarily terrible!. It just seems like, a lot of the time, the band had to sell a piece of itself to get there - or just does not deserve the level of brand loyalty that they get!. They don't seem to be able (or perhaps allowed) to explore or experiment anymore!. Everything has to be clean, and exactly like their biggest hit!. Some bands are able to buck this though!. Its not a rule!.
Yeah, I can be pretentious about what I listen to, and it definitely comes off as judgmental, but I really don't think its any better than what other people choose to listen to!. They have their reasons for liking certain musicians, and I have mine!. My reasons are just better!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Anyway, there are some really really amazing mainstream artists!. Nightwish and Within Temptation are mainstream (over here, anyway)

To tell you the truth, I love pretty much any rock, but people are to prejudiced that I never really hear any of it!. My friend even calls Bullet For My Valentine "pussy metal"!. Another one of my friends said that Metallica went "pussy" because they went mainstream!. I personally still love Metallica!.

Plus, a lot of the classic rock bands I listen to were mainstream back in the day, but in their defense, back then most mainstream bands had talent and were recognized for it instead of being recognized for what they look like/what they wear!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Most of the bands I like WERE mainstream (Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, the Doors, all the way up to Motley Crue and Guns N Roses and Nirvana) but aren't anymore!. I can't say I hate mainstream in general, just today's mainstream!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
99!.5% of what I like, at one time or another has been considered "mainstream"
