What kind of cymbal makes this kind of noise? Crash or ride?!
Question: What kind of cymbal makes this kind of noise!? Crash or ride!?
I'm a beginner drummer, and wanna know whether this noise comes form a crash or ride cymbal!.
When you hit it, it's a quick noise, unlike some where you hit it and it holds the noise until you stop it!.

I'd say it's a Crash for sure!.!.!.or it could be a Splash too!.
The Ride is used for playing using the tip of your drum sticks on!.
The Crash is used for hitting hard during your verses in your songs!.
There are 5 basic types of cymbals on most drum kits!. Not everybody has them!.!.!.its only if you want to have them!.!.!.its not necessary!.
1!. Crash ( those in front of your drum kit used for hitting hard)
they are anywhere from 14" on up to 20"
2!. Ride cymbal ( the biggest cymbal used for that big PING PING sound in songs) they are 18" to 24"
3!. Splash ( the small, tiny cymbal on the side)!.!.they are 8" to 12"
4!. China ( that weird cymbal shaped like a Flower) they are 14" to 20"
5!. Hi-Hats ( those 2 cymbals on your Hi-hat stand near your Snare) they are 13" to 15"

A quick noise would likely be a "splash" cymbal!. These are very small cymbals (6", 8:,10", 12" etc) which make a sound and are gone almost as quickly as they arrived!.
There are some specialised crash cymbals that also have very little "sustain"!. Thomas Lang has some signature series cymbals which are made by a company called Meinl!. Even though these cymbals are larger, they have a very quick decay as well!.
Then there are "effects" which can also be very "quick" sounding!. Ice bells come to mind!. They are really small and thick (kinda like the bell part of a ride cymbal), so they have a very "high" sound and again they don't last long!. A lot of times Metal bands will have a "busy" section and then the whole band will stop suddenly with no noise - except the drummer plays a quick sound like an icebell and then the whole band comes back in- it sounds pretty cool!

crash will make a long, loud sound that keeps ringing
ride will make a quiet long sound that also keeps ringing!.!.!.
hihat (the one that opens and closes) will make a short sound if you step on it or hit it when it's closed

both a crash and a ride will hold the noise until you stop it!. the HI-HAT, when closed, will make a quick noise!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
