Answers:
Captain Beefheart is great! He was also pretty close knit with Zappa, and sings on some of his stuff, that's how I started listening to him anyway!. I only have Trout Mask Replica and his Greatest Hits, but I still lurve him! :) Yeah, I like the White Stripes and all, but, ehh, I heard that cover before and thought I was BAD!.

Songs I would recommend -

Ashtray Heart
I'm Gonna Booglarize You Baby
Ella Guru
Ice Cream For Cow
Upon The My Oh My

Really, a lot of his stuff is good!. Haven't listened to him in a while actually, I must do!.

BQ: Yes, but I'd be lying if I said I remembered!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Captain Beefheart is probably one of the best underrated experimental musicians our time!.!.Trout Mask Replica is an amazing album you should give it a listen

Some of my favorite songs are Dachau Blues, Sure Nuff' N Yes I do, Sue Egypt,Moonlight On Vermont, Abba Zabba

BA: I discovered my favorite band Joy Division through the cover of "Shadowplay" covered by the KillersWww@Enter-QA@Com

I know this doesn't really answer your question, but in the spirit of discovering good artists because of other artists, I had to add my 2 cents!. If you like Captain Beefheart, you should try Frank Zappa!. Cosmic Debris is my favorite song by him!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

I've heard a couple of songs before, can't say I was very drawn too it, but I think it's definitely something I would like if I continued listening to!.

BQ: Plentyy! Through RHCP; The Mars Volta, Jimi Hendrix (Yeah, I also "discovered" him), John Frusciante's solo work!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
