Old Metallica when they had Cliff Burton and James was High and Angry!.
With the death of Cliffy it was a battle to get that sound back!. They have tried with the addition of Jason!.
Ever since they released the Black Album, its been all down hill since!. I am not sure if he went sober but everything prior to the Black album was pure anger and in your face!. That was classic Metallica!. James isn't angry anymore and they don't have that drive anymore!. Alot of the new music is trendy and almost pop like, im sure Cliff is turning over in his grave!

They have a rich a diverse history and while I love the old stuff I love the new stuff too!. They have grown up as people, as musicians and artists!. It's time for us all to grow up with them and stop complaining about what you don't like!. Just listen to the music!

i like em both but if i had to choose i would say old, like way old back to ride the lightning old!. ride the lightning, master of puppets, and st anger are my favorite albums by metallica and two of the three are older metallica albumsWww@Enter-QA@Com
I like the old Metallica!. But I seriously have no problems with todays Metallica!.
I've always liked them but I've never been, I dunno!.!. personally/emotionally attached to the band to really be upset by their "musical progression"!.

im more of a fan of old Metallica!. Their stuff in the load and reload album was decent but nothing compares to their music back in the 80's and early 90's!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
