Question: Did "racialized" music such as jazz thrive in speakeasies in the 1920's!?
I know that speakeasies were a place where u can get alcohol and all that, but im just curious as to WHAT KIND OF MUSIC WAS PLAYED there!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes, jazz was played in speakeasies!. That is part of the reason that jazz had a bad reputation amongst the "moral" people of the time!.

I heard a story about the jazz musicians!. They were so used to the speakeasies getting raided by the cops, that when the raids would happen, the musicians would run to the police patty wagon to get a seat!. Otherwise, they would have to stand up the whole ride to the police station!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Matter-of-factly, there were clubs (such as the Cotton Club) that the only black people that were allowed in, were the artists!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
