Question: Do you think it is accurate that about 70% of people have a shocking taste in music!?
I have since come across a large proportion of people that I have found to have a truly shocking taste in music!. Until this time, I just assumed that it was a large proportion of people, say about 30%, but I have come to realise that a lot more people than I thought have a bad taste in music!.
What I wanted to ask was, why do you think most people are like this!?

Firstly, most people will only listen to what is being played on the radio or TV and watch the latest video clips as that is mostly what is shown on a regular basis!.
If they don't have a true love of music, then they are not likely to venture out and find any music that they really like!. If I'm listening to the radio or watching the TV and a song comes on that I think is rubbish, I will very quickly change the channel!. I am not one to tolerate things that I don't like!. I also frequently change my radio station if they become too predictable and play the same songs over and over again!.
As for the percentage I would probably go more 50-50!. I just think a lot of people can't be bothered and if music is not a great part of their life then they will just put up with whatever happens to be on at the time!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yeah, but music is all personal taste!. I mean, just on here!.!.!. I see answers to favourite genre/band/song/artist questions and I think "how is that a favourite anything!?" I'd say personally 80% of the music people list here that I know of, I don't like or don't like enough to love!.

someone who likes rock or punk won`t like classical , and folkies won`t like hip hop!.
i personally don`t think it matters too much , as long as people continue to enjoy their own tastes!.
music is the unspoken solace and comforter, sometimes a healer!.
I , like you , think there is some pretty awfull stuff played today, but am not willing to run it down as it brings pleasure to the masses , no matter what the style !.

Well Sam, what you consider bad taste for them is good taste and viceversa, most of the people you have seen around here are teen's so they like what the media is givin' 'em, for me I like the 60's and 70's rock, maybe for another person that sucks, so every type of music has it's fans!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
How can you be surprised!? Look at what tops the charts week to week!. That's sales driven!. I have satellite radio and flip around a lot!. One channel plays the top 20 requests every couple of hours!. It's usually appalling crap lightly sprinkled with something listenable!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think thats fairly accurate!. I'm pretty sure that people would whole-hearted agree that I'm in that 70%!. It doesn't matter, though!. I like it and that's all that counts!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
