Can you tell me what you think of my lyrics?!

I'm good at writing music, but when it comes to lyrics I go completely blank!.

I like the abstract stuff!. Not the stuff that says, "omg i love you i miss you i need you i can't live without you!."

and stuff!.
If you want an example of what I'm talking about, look up
four winds by bright eyes,
or what sarah said by death cab for cutie,
or pretty much anything by brand new!.

Anyway, these aren't that great, but I figured I'd ask you what you thought:


"i drove in your town today!.
the signs were painted on the window panes
on the houses filled with people that were told to repent!.
and all i could think of were the days that had went!.

for awhile there, those days -- they haunted me!.
but then i realized this is exactly where i wanted to be!.
this road was endless; i could've noticed it then!.
but i refused to accept the way we could have been!."

Basically I'm looking for the 'I-don't-really-know-what-she's-talking-!.!.!. effect!. :]
