Type of CD packaging...?!
Question: Type of CD packaging!.!.!.!?
Did anyone here buy Coldplay's Viva la Vida!.!.!. or R!.E!.M!.'s Accelerate this year!? What do you call that kind of CD packaging!? Where it's kind of like cardboard and the CD slides out of a sleeve!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think it's just called paper-packaging!.
I have to admit, it's not as "original" as the jewel packaging, but it's very cool!. The In Rainbows one was pretty interesting; probably one of the most fantastic packaging + album art for an album!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I work at a record store (well several) and other than "too easy to steal" I don't think there is a real name for that type of packaging yet (i!.e!. on our ship logs for them they don't have any type of abbreviation to show that its that different packaging)!. Apparently, that type of cd packaging is more eco friendly, so a lot of bands put out cds in that format this past summer; although indie bands have used slipcover cds which are similar (just paper) for awhile because they are more cost effective!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Probably "Paperback Packaging"!.Just kidding!.I prefer the traditional packaging!.I don't know whether those ones are more environmental friendly or cost effective!.But it's a whole lot better than this one

I always hated opening CDs!. I knew I had to get through the hell which is the plastic wrap that is covering the CD I so dearly want to hear!. Although there were times of extreme frustration, I persevered and achieved victory, at the price of my nails and teeth!. The rock n' roll helps soothe my wounds!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
That is cardboard sleeve packaging!. It is an alternative to jewel boxes!. You can have those made up in batches at discmakers!.com!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
