Neil young, sothern man. in the lyrics what does it mean about doing what the go!

Question: Neil young, sothern man!. in the lyrics what does it mean about doing what the good book says!?
Answers:
I've always presumed Neil meant the bible, simply because he's singing about racism in white southern america in the song (neil possibly means the ku klux klan given the song's 1970 vintage, though he doesn't actually sdpecify anything)!. The song says not to 'forget' what the good book says - albeit Neil's singing in his 'sarcastic' voice here, so perhaps its more about misinterpretation of bible passages eg keeping races separate (although which passage people seem to get that idea from I'm not quite sure)!. Either way, its a song about change and questioning long-held beliefs which might actually prove to be wrong - although like many of neil's best songs, its all very vague!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

The Bible is the good book!. Jesus would not have been cool with Jim Crow laws and institutional racism!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
