Actually I do sing in a Funeral Choir!. Frequently music for funerals is not really thought about much prior to death (unless that person is a musician & has a special love for music)!.
For myself---I like "Pie Jesu" by Gabriel Faure---a soprano or boy soprano solo!. It is from Faure's "Requiem", which I have sung many times!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The funeral is for the Survivors, not the deceased, so I know what my family would want to hear to say goodbye, it is an easy choice:

um mm i think anything that would make my loved ones feel happy!. i defiantly do not want amazing grace or anything sad like that!.i want people to be happy and go on living after i am gone!.!.!.!.life doesn't revolve around me so they should feel happy at my funeral!.
