Where can I find a cheap harpsichord?!

Where can I find a cheap harpsichord in good condition!? thanks!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
I don't know what you consider cheap!. There are kits, and prebuilts (Hubbard and Zuckermann are two well-known manufacturers)!. You're still looking at the price of a new piano!. If you want a two manual instrument, you're going to be in debt for a while!.

Roland has just intruduced a digital harpsichord (yes, with a harpsichord type touch) These also tend to be very expensive, since the demand is low!.

If the look and the touch aren't that important, a harpsichord sound is a standard in the General MIDI spec!. Any GM, GM-2, XG, etc instrument (module, software emulator, keyboard) would do!.

!.!.!. The important things to remember, the scope of a harpsichord is typically less than five octaves, there is no "sustain pedal" on a harpsichord, and some (but not all) emulators will use the una corda pedal controller to enable the lute (or buff) stop!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'd be surprised if such a thing exists!. Harpsichords are not very common and cheap and in good condition are generally mutually exclusive!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Look on Craigslist!. They always have organs and pianos, so you might stand a chance of finding a harpsichord there!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
