Why are Rap and Hip Hop labeled as R&B when they have nothing to do with R&B?!

Question: Why are Rap and Hip Hop labeled as R&B when they have nothing to do with R&B!?
R&B stands for "Rhythm and Blues" which is like Blues music you can dance to!. It like a mixture of Jazz and Blues!. I don't understand why people are labeling Urban Pop as R&B!.!.!.!.there's NOTHING Blues about it!.

It like labeling Catholicism as Buddhism!. To someone like me who thrives on Jazz and Blues!.!.!.!. it sure seems that way!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

R & B was a blanket term developed by the record studios and radio stations that referred to any kind of black music, because the term "race record" was considered, well, too racist!. The term originally included Blues, Jazz, Jump and Swing, but as the music black people played changed and expanded, so did the term!. As a result, R&B stations now include genres like Soul, Funk, Rap, and Hip Hop!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
