Question: What type of connection do you have to have to connect a piano keyboard to a pc!?
I want to buy a cheap piano keyboard but I want to be able to hook it up to play/record on my PC!. What type of output does the keyboard have to have on it, I want to make sure that I buy the right one!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Use MIDI!. Vast majority of el!. keyboards have MIDI interface, it's a standard feature, so you basically can't go wrong!. On the other side, PC's don't have MIDI ports - there are several ways out - you can buy MIDI-to-Gameport type of cable or, MIDI-to-USB (a better choice) or you can go on a higher level and buy a semi-pro or pro soundcard!.!.!.!.
After you connect your midi keyboard to your PC, it's capable of recording the MIDI signal, not an audio signal!. If you just need to record and play back your tunes on your keyboard it works well!. But if you want to record an actual tune to your PC, you need a MIDI interpreter (google VST)!.
Back to your question - you need at least a Game-Port, preferably USB!. But the possibilities are many!. What I wrote above is just so you understand, that it's not exactly a Plug-and-play thing!.

check this out with your local computer stores, but most pc's hook up with usb ports, so you'll probably need a keyboard that accommodates that, Radio shack might have adapters to change the old pin midi out put to usb !.!.!. maybe you want to try that !.!.!. if it works,an older well cared for high end keyboard might be a better buy than a new low end machine !.!.!. more features and better response !.!.!. when u purchase a keyboard, purchase one tht supports pc connectivity, via USB or midi, those are the normal basic standards!. there are some firewire supported ones as well!. get one that suits u!. u shud get a decent one for about 100 dollors!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
