How do you Pinch the harmonic on a guitar?!


Question: How do you Pinch the harmonic on a guitar!?
the song welcome home by Coheed and Cambria is a good example!. at least i think its called pinching the harmonic, it dosesnt really make it a higher note i think, i dont really know how to explaine it!. but ive played guitar for about 5 to 6 years, just kind of pittle pattled around, and im starting to get into the harder stuff!. and im wanting to learn how to play this song, and i dont know how to make that sound, any help!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

When you pick the string, let the little bit of flesh on your thumb hit the string then move that part of your thumb off the string!. That then produces the high pitched 'squeal' sound!. You can then make them sound even better by bending the string up and down to change the pitch!.

To get a "pinch" harmonic you play the single note plucking the string with you pick and a little bit of flesh from your thumb!. You basically pinch the string between your thumb and pick!. This will take some practice but be patient!. Trial and error!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
