Of course it has a "rock" beat and sound, It's SOUTHERN ROCK!. The song even says they listen to Rock music if they switched the station when they couldn't take no more of that Rock and Roll!. Ever think some people have MULTIPLE TASTES in music!. That maybe they just got TIRED of the Rock at that moment!? It's also about the lyrics, not just the beat!. If you only went by the beat then Shooter Jennings, Montgomery Gentry(for the most part) and Van Zant(as well as Skynard) would simply be called Rock bands!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
