I have the MT-2!. There are some good reviews online but some people say it is bad!. I am planning to sell mine - the tone is thin and flat compared to my Marshall amp (30watt solidstate) overdrive, which is warm and full!.
It is a distortion pedal, which is good for for metal and hard rock!. Other options are MegaDistortion MD-2 or HeavyMetal HM-2!. Search for reviews online or ask the salesmen at the music shops!.
Distortion is generally to harsh for rock or blues, so in that case go for Overdrive OD-3, Blues Driver BD-2 or Ibanez Tubescreamer!.

As far as I know the Boss delay is high quality!. Unless you really like the new features (see the link), go for the DD-6!. You can get it for a good price secondhand, esp with the DD-7 out!. (Ebay or Gumtree)
The DD-7 pedal has 40seconds of recording time for looping (the previous one is only about 5 seconds!.) If you really like making loops and jamming with yourself, get this instead of the loop station!.

The novelty of this could wear off!. Unless you are serious about using this professionally, or you think it will let you improve you jamming or overdubbing or something, you might regret this after a few months!.

Another good option is to get a mixing program for your computer!. Record your guitar (with a microphone or a really cheap guitar-to-pc adapter) and create a loop for as long as you want, for jamming over, or layering loops!.
