How do you tune a piano?!

Question: How do you tune a piano!?
We have this old upright piano in our house, it's a great piano but it's horribly out of tune, and I know you can hire people to do it for you, but I was wondering if it's a thing that any person could learn to do!. Any help on doing this would be appreciated!. Thanks in advance!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
A piano is a terribly complex piece of equipment!. Piano tuners are especially trained to hear even tiny differences in pitch and how to recognize them and are also trained to fix most problems that home users experience!. There is more to this than just putting a piano in tune!. A piano may sound out of tune when it needs revoicing or something else!.

That said, there are plenty of small maintenance tasks you can do yourself!. Open up your upright and vacuum it inside and out!. Get a hygrometer (measures humidity) and keep the humidity and temperature in the room where the piano is even!. Polish the wood that is finished (depending on what kind of finish it is)!.

If you're interested in becoming a piano tuner, it takes about 6 months to 2 years to train, and yes, most people can be trained to do it!. However, given the cost of the special equipment and knowing how to do it, I doubt in the short run you'll save yourself any money, even if you don't take the courses!.

There is an inexpensive Dover book available on the subject; I've given a link to it in my Amazon store below!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes you can learn and these days with computer tuners anyone can learn to do it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's done with a tuning fork!.!.!.!.It takes years of practice!. also, stay away from the strings!.!.!.if they break, they can take your hand off!!! You'll have to leave this one to the professionals!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
