Question: Rap haters: Which of the following do you believe!?
As a few of you may have seen when I posted a link to my top 100 albums the other day, I am one of the seemingly few people who legitimately enjoys both rap and rock (and any other genre, but that's another story!.) Anyway, to get to the point, there are a few common statements about rap that get thrown around to make it look bad!. They consist of "rap takes no talent", "all rap sounds alike", "all/most rap is offensive (to women)", "rap is responsible for the decline in society", "rap doesn't have thoughtful lyrics", "all rap is just bragging about how much money you have", and a few that I'm probably forgetting!. So rap haters, which of those do you believe!? Or what else about rap bothers you!? And do you actually think rap is bad, or do you just not like it!? Rap lovers or rap neutrals are welcome to answer with their insights too!. I'm posting this in R&P as opposed to RHH because there aren't really very many rap haters in RHH, if you don't count trolls!.

rap has some of the most dedicated musicians, its just who you look for same with every genre!. take N!.W!.A - pioneers in what they did, they made songs about serious situations and everyday life and made story's about them in there songs, like they were been read to you from a book!.
then we come to the beats, a lot of work goes into some beats with many of the samples coming from rock songs!.
personally i think rap is a powerful genre people like

Biggie
N!.W!.A
Eazy E
Dr Dre
etc
all great musicians, anyone who knocks another musician is just a idiot and i have no time to listen to them or their 1 sided views

I don't hate rap at all, I think the rap they play on the TV and radio are all carbon copies of each other, and I do enjoy listening to some rap from time to time, such as Blue Scholars and MIA!. And then you have to consider how rap can be combined with rock, Rage Against the Machine for example, and how awesome it can sound!.

It take absolutely no talent to say "YUUUUAAA Soulja Boy!" but it takes incredible talent to rhyme and create lyrics like Tupac, Nas, Ice-T, etc!. Rap can be just as "inappropriate" as rock!.
My favorite band combines the elements of both Rock and Rap!. Guess I covered the bases then :)

For me, rap just isn't my cup of tea!. I liked some of the stuff back in the 80's (Run DMC, Whodini), but somewhere along the line, it took a turn where I just didn't care for it anymore!.

It's the mainstream bubble gum rap I don't like!. I know there are artists who can rap and because of the bubblegum stuff (which people think is the only thing to rap) makes it seem bad!. I don't personally like it, but I won't put you down if you like the real stuff!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
No, I can't say that all rap is a pile of crap!. I know that there are highly talented rappers, for example, I respect Public Enemy!. It's Just a kind of music that I don't enjoy!. God bless all of those talented, smart rappers!. May the Wrath of God fall upon the misogynist rappers!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Some underground rap are pretty good!.
About the music, I think rap fans don't care about the music or technicalities itself but lyrics is what matters the most for them

i just don't like rap!. it's my musical taste!. i don't disrespect other people who might have rap as their favorite genre!. they're entitled to their own opinions!.

I used to love rap, then I hated it, now I'm just like whatever towards it!. I used to use the whole "It's offensive and takes no talent!." rhetoric, but now I have become more open-minded and understand that not all rap is s*it!. But you must admit, popular rap, sucks!. I wouldn't even consider it rap, just some people trying to make money while rhyming to a beat!. So I do respect some rap artists, just not the mass majority!.
EDIT: And ya know, I was going to put that most of today's "popular music" sucks, but I didn't!. Trust me, there are a lot of artists out today that I just have to shake my head!.
