Am I too old to make it in the music industry?!

Question: Am I too old to make it in the music industry!?
I am 31 years old, and I have been a vocalist for about 10 years!. I would consider myself to be great at singing, and I have been in several bands!. My last band had a real chance at making it big, but conflicts within the band made me leave before I lost friendships!. My question is am I too old to try to keep on trying!? I have been told that the music industry only wants young talent, and I don't want to just be spinning my wheels!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

First of all, thanks for being sincere and open with your question!.

My response to your question with a flat out answer is, No! You are not too old!.

Now I will say that yes, a lot of great bands out there have been together since they were younger, but they are still around now in their 40's, 50's, and older!. There are still record companies who believe in quality musicians and singers with talent!. They may be few and far between, but they're out there!. If you or you and your band are doing something innovative or making songs that people aren't making enough of, then there's always a chance that someone out there is looking to market that!. I believe that you shouldn't focus too much on if you "make it" or not!. By making it I mean making the big money, garnering lots of praise and awards!. That would be great of course, but it has to be about the essence of the music before anything else!. Then everything else comes after!. I feel it's very important to be recognized by other true music lovers and to have a strong fan-base also!. If you've been doing this for 10 years then you obviously have a passion for it!. And even though it gets frustrating about what's not happening that you would like to happen, it's still worth it in the end!. However, if you get to that point where you have no passion for the music you're making and you feel like it's not worth what you go through, that's really when you need to hang it up for a minute!

If you have a dream, never feel that it can't happen!. I have great respect for people who don't give up on what they love and want to make happen!. They are the ones who give hope to other people!. You are never too old to make it!. But most importantly, you are NEVER too old or too young to keep on trying to make something happen for yourself!. And anyone who tells you differently is just a product of someone who has lost their faith in something at one time or another!. But don't let them discourage you!. In the end, just do what's best for you!. :]Www@Enter-QA@Com

I guess it depends on your definition of "making it" in the music industry!.

Can you become the next Pop Princess!? Probably not!. It not just the age thing, but the LONG odds!. You need to be a little more pragmatic!.

You can become a respected vocalist in local/regional bands, and move up to higher profile back up singing gigs, studio work, and maybe some solo work on an indie label!.

Do you have any of your stuff online, so we can hear!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Go for it man!. Not all of the people in the music industry are searching for young people!. Even if you don't get the big record companies, it'll be good to start small and eventually you'll get recognizedWww@Enter-QA@Com

No, Never give up, Never give in!. To hell with what any one else says!.
But you do need a viable product that the older crowed will
tap into!. You're only 3 years older than Daughtry!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
