Bands/artists which ape/lift from your favorite band/artist?!

Question: Bands/artists which ape/lift from your favorite band/artist!?
Muse, Coldplay, Bloc Party, and many other groups have risen to global fame imitating Radiohead, especially the sound of their '90s albums!. I love those bands, especially Coldplay, so I'm not criticizing them!. It's simply!.!.!. the truth!. In fact, in 2001, MTV put the question to Thom Yorke: "How do you guys feel about the fact that bands like Travis, Coldplay and Muse are making a career sounding exactly like your records did in 1997!?" Yorke's reply: "Good luck with Kid A!." lol

So, which bands/artists ape or lift from your favorite band/artist!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Soundgarden, Hole, etc!. Have all taken a page from the Pixies playbook!. Its ok though because they all are amazing artists!.

Pixies is my second fave band!.!.!. does that count!? An yes those bands did sorta borrow, mainly the LOUD quiet LOUD technique!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

the Pixies,Sonic Youth, the Strokes,Jesus and Mary Chain, the Stooges,David Bowie,REM,Talking Heads,Patti Smith etc etc!.Have all been influenced by the Velvet Underground!.

But then I could say that Radiohead pretty much lifted all their sound from the Factory Records/Manchester scene of the 1980s!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

UM!.!.!.!.!.!.!. I have no clue!.

Jimmy Jazz: Please Madonna is a Fake Cyndi Lauper!.

ColdPlay sucks!. Wow we got some TD trolls that can't stand other people's opinion!.

Jimmy Jazz: Learn your Hip-Hop history!. KRS-One was not influenced by Eric!. B and Rakim!. They came out about the same time!. Except Boogie Down Productions put out Criminal Minded before Paid N full!. Eminem biggest influence I think was Nas and AZ!. Tupac influence was Boogie Down Productions, Public Enemy, X-Clan, and Grandmaster Flash but his biggest influence weren't even rappers!. Yeah I know things about Hip-Hop!. I used to like it along time ago before I even liked rock!. Back in the 70s!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Just about every solo female pop artist has taken something from Madonna!.

Lots of rappers jock Eric B & Rakim's Paid In Full album!. It has been very influential!.
Master P
Tupac
Digable Planets
Eminem
KRS-One

EDIT: I like them both very much, but come on, who has had greater success and thus likely influenced more people!? If we want to keep going back, then I'll say Cher!.

I guess with Paid In Full, I meant that all the artists I listed have directly taken from it at one point another, which is what the question was about!. Currently listening to She's So Unsual in your honor!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Meh, there are many that list Nightwish as influences, and seem to have a similar sound - symphonic metal with an operatic female!. One that actually is too close for comfort is Operatika!.

"She Is My Sin" - Nightwish
http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=_t-gTxWuy!.!.!.

"Dreamworld" - Operatika
http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=g0LGzIi9n!.!.!.

By the way, does ape have the same meaning as debo!? :P

EDIT:
Oh God, I just looked at the track listing of Operatika's album which is to be released next month - they have a song titled "Ice Queen"!. Within Temptation, another symphonic rock/metal band with a soprano female vocalist, became famous with their song "Ice Queen"!.

*grumbles*Www@Enter-QA@Com

What kind of question is this!!? what does ape/lift have to do with anything!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
