I like the look of the PDP a little better, but I would definitely go with the Pearl, but I'm a bit biased because that's the set I play; Pearl VBX Vision Maple Hybrid

I've found Pearl to be super reliable, I just recently got my current set but before that, I had a set very similar to the one you're considering for a good 10 years!.!.!.Pearl brand!. It'll definitely last!.!.plus it'll grow with you as a musician!. The extra money is definitely worth it!.

If you're still not sure, find a local instrument store and go try out some sets, and ask the people there, I'm sure they'll all offer excellent advice!

Good luck! ^!.^Www@Enter-QA@Com

honestly any drum sets around will sound good if you tune it well!.!. even the store brand sets ( which i have)!.!. it will take a while until you get the right tune for that specific drum!.!. but man, if you tune it and with the cymbals that will compliment your kit it will sound awesome!.!.but under $500 now!?!?!? probably ddrum or pearl!.!.!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
