Wow!. First, I think you mean Eb (pronounced E flat) Alto sax!.

Second, you are making this way harder than it needs to be!. I think by "32 notes" you mean from the lowest C to the F in the space 3 ledger lines above the staff- right!?

There are only 7 notes (A B C D E F G) and they just repeat over and over again!. MOST of the fingerings are the same for the first 2 octaves- like D, E, F, G, A, and B, plus all the flats and sharps in between!. C and C# are different in the bottom register, but the same for the top!.!.!. you really only have about 15 fingerings to learn!.

The best way to learn it is through practice!.!.!. start at low C and go up chromatically, then back down!. Go slow, and say each note to yourself in your head!.

Now here's my next question: don't you have a book or something to be working out of!? Most beginner books teach you only 2 or 3 notes at a time and have exercises that help reinforce the note recognition and hand/eye coordination!. There are 2 reasons for this: a) it takes repetition to make it stick in your head and hands, and b) no beginner is going to be able to get the full range of the horn out in one fell swoop! The low D, C#, and C all take time to make speak (especially with any kind of steady tone), and the low altissimo notes (the high D, Eb, E, F above the staff) take a lot more air, pressure, and finesse than a beginner can usually handle!.

Since you have a month, pick up a beginner book like Rubank Elementary Method for Alto Sax or Essential Elements Book I for Alto Sax!. It will give you exercises to work with, limiting you to only a few notes at a time and adding more as you learn more!.

If you don't want to spend $6 for a book, try learning 2 notes a day!. The next day add another!.!.!. you have 30 days, so by day 16 you should have learned them all, giving you 16 days to cement it in your head!. Be consistant and practice EVERY day!.

also, if it is READING the music you are having trouble with, try http://www!.musictheory!.net
There are lessons and interactive "quizzes" (listed under trainers) that will help reinforce the knowledge!.

Anyways, good luck and have fun! :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Is there an E-Alto Saxophone!? An alto saxophone is in Eb, not E!. It does not have 32 notes!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
