Answers:
I could ramble on about the Sgt Peppers album!. Probably to the point where someone might wanna deck me just to shut me up!. So, I'll simply post this recommendation:

Note: - - I'm fairly sure that most die-hard Beatle fans would have already checked this out!. But, for those who haven't, it might be quite an eye opener!.

And yes, I pull it out now & then!. (:Www@Enter-QA@Com

To me , it's either one of three :

(1) Sgt!. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band >> since it marks the roots of Progression in Rock 'N' Roll and the approach of linked songs and art !. also , it marks the presence of a perfection in playing world music in one of The Beatles best songs ever "Within You Without You" !.
or
(2) The White Album >> it marks the presence of many and many influential and sub-genres producing songs like "Helter Skelter" which in my opinion heavier than Hard Rock (Metalish) and songs like "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" which is an electric guitar based pioneer in the field of Hard Rocking !.
or
(3) Revolver >> in a less degree than the past two , yet this album is one of the most significant in Psychedelic , Hard Rock based Rock 'N' Roll !.Www@Enter-QA@Com

First off, I'm so happy to see you put "The Beatles" instead of just "Beatles" like most people, very good!

I'll also have to pick the Sgt!. Peppers album because when it first came out it wasn't like any other album by The Beatles or anyone else!.
The music was so much more complex from their previous albums, they looked, acted, and dressed differently, even the album cover was amazing to look at!. There used to be contests to try to name everyone on that cover!.
I think The Beatles biggest change and improvement was between the Revolver and Sgt!. Peppers albums!.
I still have all their original albums and listen to that one every once in a while!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think most would agree that Sgt!. Pepper is the most significant -- albums like Rubber Soul and Revolver slowly lead them toward the point of SPLHCB!. The album permanently changed their approach to music, as well as completely changed the sound and look of the pop scene back in '67!.

However, to me personally, I think their self-titled (aka White Album) was their most significant!. Taking everything they learned from Sgt!. Pepper, they came up with a smorgasbord of songs that, despite coming up with some interesting choices in sounds & lyrics, all seemed to fit together nicely!. Some of my favourite Beatles tracks are found on here, I still discover new elements of the album every time I listen to it!. SPLHCB is an epic masterpiece, but the White Album can't be counted out!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Great question!.

There are a couple different ways to look at this question!. I imagine as far as the industry is concerned Sgt!. Peppers is probably the obvious answer!. There just wasn't anything like it!. Hell, Jimi Hendrix was covering the title track at a concert two days after the album came out!. It was them reaching a whole new level, and really raising the bar for everybody (at least that is the way I hear it, I wasn't around just yet)!.

In a way, though I will go with the road less traveled!. I will go with Help!. Help is the bridge between two very distinct trains of thought!. Help was the Beatles starting to show signs of what was to come with Rubber Soul and Revolver!. The songs got a bit less pop friendly (well, they were still quite poppy, but you know what I mean) and as much as even the bubble gum Beatles still had tons of personality it was showing them beginning to evolve!. Starting to become the band that people still argue is the greatest rock band ever (and anyone who will replace them!. Be so distinct and transcend generations!. I see that shift beginning at Help only to fully realize itself at Rubber Soul!. I believe Help was the first dominoe though!.

You know, oddly enough my copy of Help turned up scratched really badly about 6 months ago and I haven't gotten around to replacing it yet!. I've meant to, but they don't have it on the iTunes store and I never think of it when I'm actually near a record store!. I still love the record though!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Sgt!. Pepper (cliche answer!,) because of the mastering/mixing techniques used, and because it revolutionized psychedelic rock/baroque pop, which were the most important genres of that era, and resulted in bands like Iron Butterfly and Black Sabbath, both of whom had major influences on nearly all of today's rock music!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

For Me it's Abbey Road!.!.I think it clearly shows that, had they stayed together they'd have been one of the dominant Classic Rock bands of the 70's along with Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin!.

I think if they had taken this direction instead of breaking up I personally would have liked them a lot more!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think it's Rubber Soul!. It may not have lots of number one songs in it but they took their liberty and explored lots of new sounds in this one!. Drive My Car, You Won't See Me, I'm Looking Thru You, etc!. Norwegian Wood!. Lot's of great songs!. I still have it and listen to it!. All the songs are in my iPod!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

has to be Sgt!. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band!.!.!.!.

This is a landmark album in the music business!. Most people say it's the beatles best and most important work!. It's a timeless classic that still stands the test of time, even today!.
