Answers:
Ditto, for "Maiamka-"!.

There are opera companies, and then there are Opera Companies!. And ticket prices also depend on who's singing - a "star", or non-star(s) - and the particular opera being performed!.

As far as an entire box is concerned, hope you have "deep pockets"!.

The most expensive tickets that I've ever heard of, is for opening nights(days)performances at the Festspielhaus in Bayreuth, Germany(Richard Wagner's, where he's "Ring" cycle is given ever so often)!.
Unless you happen to be Angela Merkel - the current German Chancellor, or a "big wig" of some kind - there's a waiting list of more than 10 yrs!. for tickets!.

And opening nights, they go for $4,000 per seat(there are no seating divisions(no boxes), only one level, with single seats)!. Afterwards, $1,000 per seat!.

Just thought I would post the above as more or less, hopefully interesting "tidbits" about opera!.

We go the opera LOT - we live near NYC!. If you want to FAINT - go on the www!.metopera!.org site!. Look over the various operas!. Yes, you can see a lot of them for a reasonable cost - sitting up high, or in partial view, like a side box!. But an ENTIRE box, in a good area!? Could be that EACH of those 8 tickets in the box goes for $250, or MUCH more!. Do the math - faint!.

Some tickets, you cannot GET unless you are a supported at some pre-determined level!. We are Met Guild members, which gets us in the DOOR for some things - but the RING!? We are out of the loop!. We hope that Bard does a chunk of it next summer, right over the river from us!.

Other opera companies in other places may be more reasonable in prices for an entire box - but you are purchasing the creme de la creme - IF you can even get it! Many of those boxes are season subscriptions only!. The only way to know, if to go on the site, and start plugging in the operas and dates you wish!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It completely depends on what opera company you will be attending!. If you could give us some more info that'd be greatly helpful!.

I'm pretty sure this is a national program, but one of my favorite things to do is hop in the car and go down to my local movie theater!. I live in Pittsburgh, and there are two different theaters that actually show live HD broadcasts of performances from the Met in New York!. And it's very cheap too!.

But as for the real deal, yeah, we'll definitely need more info!. Most major companies, however, all have ticket prices listed at their respective websites!. You might just want to do a simple google of the company putting on the performance!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
