Answers:
I like rock music because the artists take bits and pieces from other styles of music like jazz and blues, and use these to create new forms!. As Jazz and blues evolve, so does rock!. I also like the passion that is passed along from the musician/singers to the audience in a raw imperfect way!. I say this because I believe today's music is too perfect in instrumentals and voice just like today's advertising airbrushes its photographs!. Too much of it is "fixed" in a studio to be perfect!. I personally like the imperfections of the individual artist because it gives character to the style produced by each individual and group!. To me rock is "raw and natural" more human than the processed music of today!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Rock music is a place where I can connect with the spirit of others who I may never meet!. Often times it is the spirit of "I can't stand the world I'm forced to live in, and would like something better"!. This goes for songs that protest the political scene or situation!. Bands like Steppenwolf and Creedence Clearwater Revival express this idea in a grandway for me!. At rock concerts you are expected to loose at least some of your inhibitions!. You are encouraged to give a physical expression to your feelings!. So at a metal show you can fist pump or head bang or go so far as to mosh!. This is a release to how we normallly must act!. At a Rage Against the Machine concert I attended a few years ago the opening of the mosh pit away from the stage was one of the truely most impressive things I have witnessed!. There were two forces at work!. Fear from those wishing to escape it, and exicitement for those who wanted to get to it!. I tried to hold my ground, but even being 300 pounds and having locked arms with my crew, did not stop us from being pushed back and eventually seperated!. That amount of human energy is hard to explain unless you feel it!. There was an excitement there that you just don't get in normal life settings!. also it is a way to show devotion!. In our very secular world, we have limited ways to be devoted to others outside of ourselves, and following a band and then attending a concert is an expression of this need for devotion!. To be with others who feel the same way as you do about the music is something special!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I love the darkness, and aggressive attitude of Rock!. It just is a type of music that I totally get!. It has meaning for me!. I have always had a very dark side, and I think Rock does too!.

As for concerts, Hmmm!.!.!.

I feel socially accepted for the most part with or without concerts!. I mean people either accept who I am or they can move on!. I don't have the patience to deal with people who do not accept me for who I am!. I have never looked to shows for social acceptance!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

this is gonna be really cheesy but here i go!.!.!.
I think rock concerts make you feel accepted because you all have at least one thing in common and you are all there because you love the band and its music!. I feel it especially at My Chem shows!. Because you know everyone in this room has been helped by this band in one way or another!.
I love rock music because it can be about anything and lyrics can be more meaningfulWww@Enter-QA@Com

I was going to give a short, simple answer to this, and where I will still try to keep it brief it is a very good question!. Although, you're really asking two completely separate questions!.

Personally, it gets me thinking of going to Pavement shows in L!.A!. when they were around and starting to see a whole lot of the same faces every time!. Then going to a Sonic Youth show and seeing some more of those same faces, then seeing them at Frank Black!. There is a local group that I really enjoy, and it's the same thing, only a much smaller group (thus the people are more recognizable)!. The rock scene, and more prevalently so the more underground and/or local you go, represents a community of people with at least musical taste in common, but often there is more than that in a music scene!. I've found similar world views and similar tastes in other arts!.
You know how when you go to work you have that little thing in common and it gives you a starting point with your co-workers!? Well, the scene that a given band is a part of represents having the co-worker sort of bond with something a bit more personal, a bit more substantial!. Although, Tangerine is right!. I've never known anyone who would go to a rock show with the goal of social acceptance or anything like that!. The goal is to see some good music being performed and enjoying the show itself!. The community aspect of it is a secondary thing!. Kind of an added bonus!.

As for rock music!. I think it isn't specific to rock music!. It's a music scene in general thing!. In fact, like I got at before, the smaller the scene the better!. For instance, I bet, especially once you factor in the fact that it is more of a specific taste set that guides you to jazz, that the jazz scene would be a better example!. Avante garde as well!.
Anyways, for me personally, rock music and more specifically indie rock just grabs my ears right!. I like that it isn't the same old, overly tread, drivel you hear on the radio!. I like that even though it can be poppy, it is a different take!. Hard to explain, but I just like the creativity, but still the relatability of that style!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

there is always truth in it!. rock isn't ever just words to noise (know matter what anyone i know says) it could be saying one thing but really mean another!. it's complex & emotional!. a rock song can really make you think!. i was completely lost till i found rock & every time i've gotten lost since i found by way back because of it!. rock can make you feel happy or sad or pissed or whatever you need to feel at that time!. it's a wonderful thing!.

I relate to rock music more than any other kind!. i feel very comfortable with it!. i love going to concerts!.!.!.we all kind of feel like we all know one another!. most of us can relate to each other in some way!. most of us can respect one another without even knowing each other!.!.!.so the concert feels good!. (depending who is there and who is around you)!.!.!.i love going to a concert!.!.!.it makes me feel amazing!. i get to see my guys who i almost feel like they know me!. three days grace for example!.!.!.i have seen them 3 times already!. im going again once they begin touring again!. i feel so good seeing them!. its something i almost can't explain!. i love the sounds and just so much!. when the concert is over and you go home!.!.!.it's like you get a second wind!. my stress seems to go away!. you just feel it throughout your whole body!. i literally get depressed for a few days after the concert!.!.!.you get such a high!.!.!.again i can't even explain it!. it's one of the coolest things ever though!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
