Answers:
After Bach died, his music was almost ignored for a while!. Mozart had studied it, I'm not sure if Beethoven did, but it was Felix Mendelssohn in the Romantic era who found interest in Bach's music and brought it back into the repertoire!. Hope this helps!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

no one did!.!.!. until Mendelssohn "rediscovered" it for public consumption about a century later!. In fact Bach's music was never really "popular" until that time!. Bach's music was extremely difficult to play and considered "old-fashioned" by most musicians during the classical period!. There were some small performances of his music during that time, often at "rococo" style parties!. Major composers like Beethoven and Mozart knew of Bach, but most people during that time didn't!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Ryan and J Mark are right but let me also add that Bach was so prolific and wrote so much music that his family gave hundreds of sheets of originals to a local butcher because there was a paper shortage at that time!.
Imagine those masterpieces that were lost and ended up in the garbage!?
A 5 cent pork chop wrapped in a million dollar sheet of music!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't know, but I'm guessing the fact that he was the most awesome composer of his time- sort of like Elvis, only instead of jumpsuits, he had the cool white wig going on- just guessing!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Anyone that heard it!. Why do you know Elvis songs!? Because over the generations no matter who, we all recognized it was good music!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
